Regarding tuition
Our
experienced teachers are all volunteers and receive no enumeration for
the countless hours they spend teaching. Membership fees are necessary
to support the Association's many projects and have remained low since
the Canadian Meihuazhuang Association was founded in 1993.
Those who cannot
afford regular rates may receive discounts or be exempted from fees.
The transmission of Meihuazhuang demands a social exchange and thus
payment of fees do not in any way represent a 'purchase' of the Art as
if it were a commodity. Rather, the payment is an acknowledgment of
great effort expended on the members' behalf, and is a voluntary
contribution to assist the Association in attaining its goals. This
fact in itself is a significant principle of the Canadian Meihuazhuang
Association and is an extension of the age-old system through which the
Art is traditionally taught.
After several years of diligent practice, members become part of the Association's core membership – a
‘health club for life’ – and accept its associated responsibilities and privileges.
